Change the world

It is back to the drawing board for NMMU's Steinhoff Stallions after suffering a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the University of Johannesburg's Steinhoff Bastion side during their Steinhoff Koshuis rugby match in Port Elizabeth on Monday.
Even though this was not the result the Steinhoff Stallions were looking for in front of their home crowd, team manager Rico Rossouw felt the game was a learning opportunity for the team.

"The game helped us to identify areas we need to improve on and showed how the young players perform under pressure."

According to Rossouw, the Stallions dominated the scrums but fell short on the tactical side of the game.

"We were unable to execute our game plan and struggled in our line-outs."

He said the feeling of disappointment was apparent after the game but that the players also recognised the opportunities for growth and improvement.

Despite the defeat, the team was not discouraged, said Rossouw.

"The players are all self-motivated and Mark Edwards is a great captain with the ability to ensure that the players always keep their heads up."

The Steinhoff Stallions next take on Pukke's Steinhoff Patria in Potchefstroom on Monday.

"We are positive in our preparation going into the next match and the team is excited to play their first away game for the year."
